Hurghada, known in Egypt as Ghardaga, was just a simple fishing village. But now, with its crystal clear waters, fabulous reefs and a multitude of ship wrecks, it has become one of the best Egyptian tourist destinations. Domina Makadi Bay consist of spacious Ocean Rooms, De-Luxe Rooms ( including large balcony/terrace) and De Luxe Family Rooms (Ocean Rooms with family living space). All rooms enjoy either Red Sea or garden view and are equipped with telephone, Cable / Satellite TV, minibar, air conditioning, in-room safe box, wireless connection, balcony / terrace, voltage (volts): 220, shower and hair dryer. There are also non smoking rooms.
There are three restaurants with a maximum occupancy of 350 seats. The AM/PM main resort restaurant, the Bel Paese Italian regional restaurant, the beach & bar restaurant D Lounge and the pool bar Armata di Mare.
The Resort offers the following facilities: 24 - hour front desk, laundry service, limousine service, airline desk, tour desk (available from the Medhotels rep), medical service, hairdresser, gift shop and a children play area. Restaurants, shopping centre, and clinic are also available at the Resort.
Guests can enjoy a fully equipped private sandy beach with restaurant. There is also a snack bar, a natural spring sea water lake, a diving centre, a fitness area and water sports. Three interconnecting pools surrounded by palm trees with waterfalls & open air Jacuzzis. Playground, children swimming pool and mini club are at childrens disposal. Also, beach volley & 5-a-side football pitch, billiard and games room, located in the main building, health club/gymnasium, night lounge & discothèque, Domina Club rooms and an elegant resort shopping arcade.
The AI programme consists of American breakfast (06:00-10:00), lunch (12:30-14:30) and dinner (18:30-22:30, plus theme nights), all buffet style with show cooking & international cuisine, served in the main restaurant Piazza Grande. Continental breakfast takes place from 10:00-12:30 at the La Rotonda pool bar. Also at the disposal of the AI guests for lunch (13:00-15:00) is the Bella Vista. Snacks such as Danish, cheese pate, brioche and mini croissants are available between 10:30 & 13:00 at the La Rotonda as well as pastry items & assorted mini French pastry from 15:00-18:00. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks like cola, fanta, sprite, tonic, soda, juices, tea, coffee, beer, wine (white, rose, red), vodka, rum, whiskey, gin and brandy (all by the glass) are served from 10:00-24:00 at the D bar & D terrace (open 24hrs), the Bella Vista (12:00-19:00),.the D’Gazebo beach bar (10:00-18:00), the La Rotonda pool bar (10:00-24:00), the Layalina Café Bedouin corner (18:00-02:30, hot drinks only) and the D lounge (23:00-02:00, entrance with payment).
Sport facilities at the hotel include beach volley, beach handball, beach football, water polo, water aerobics, boccia, chess, darts, snooker, ping pong, fitness equipment and jogging track. There is also a compete team of international animators for the guest’s entertainment as well as a full entertainment & animation programme for toddles, children, teenagers, as well as for couples & families.
Ok, we have just arrived back from this hotel and were very shocked when presented woth our room that seemed very out dated and in need of decoration. The hotel is supposed to be a few years old but looks like something from the 70’s . Staff are not very helpful and seem uninterested with our requests to move rooms. The food wasn’t good at all and to be honest, we left after the 2nd day and checked ourselves into the Hilton Hotel which was mucvh much better!
