Hurghada Attractions

Hurghada was a secluded and quiet fishing village until relatively recently, and has been developed into a busy resort town situated on Egypt's Red Sea Coast between the Arabian Desert and the beautiful azure ocean. It has been transformed into a popular tourist destination for water sports enthusiasts looking to enjoy some snorkelling, scuba diving and windsurfing. Travellers to this exotic location of year round sunshine can also experience desert safaris, which are organised by your hotel.

This unique resort is some 504 kilometres from the Egyptian Capital of Cairo, which is well connected by various transport systems. The road to the coast passes by two of the world's oldest and most interesting Coptic monasteries – those of St. Paul and St. Anthony that are well worth a visit. Hurghada is also a much-favoured stopover on the 210-kilometre journey to and from Luxor. This city, better known as the Capital of Ancient Egypt and also as the 'greatest open air museum in the world' offers the chance to enjoy a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings.

Hurghada Accommodation

Most of the hotels here offer you excellent accommodation with easy access to the beach and also to the town centre. With several drinking and dining options at the hotel restaurants, you will be served with tasty international dishes, plus seafood, salads and local specialties of Egyptian cuisine.

Many of the hotels in Hurghada provide private sandy beaches, swimming pools, water sports activities, diving classes, tennis courts, volleyball and ping-pong. Some have fabulous health and fitness centres with steam rooms, hot tubs, saunas, natural therapy sessions and beauty salons.
