Have returned from two week holiday in Egypt. Did a cruise and stay, cruised first week (which I definitely recommend). Hotel was ideal for what we wanted. It could do with a refurbishment, seems a little dated, and the pool area is not that big but other than that we enjoyed it. Staff were very nice, and helpful, food was decent, location spot on and they even arranged out trips to Karnak and the Valley Of The Kings. Overall really enjoyed, we wouldn’t go back to Egypt, but for those who ARE going to Luxor, try this hotel. You wont be disappointed.

Got back from the Gaddis about two weeks ago now, and after looking at reviews on other websites, I felt I needed to set the record straight. No, it is not a massivly extravagant hotel, but it has everything you could need and then some. We wanted a hotel as a good base for seeing all the sites of Luxor. There are always cheap taxis available, but agree the price before getting into the car or climbing into the horse and carriage. The latter is a great way to travel round Luxor once the sun has gone down. Not a hotel for sunbathing, swimming or lounging around the pool. Pool is small and surrounding area in need of updating. Food and drink are very reasonably priced. The menu includes typically english dishes and puddings which may not be to everyone's holiday palate. Chips however are hand peeled and cut, delicious! We highly recommend the Egyptian dishes of fool, tamayia and tahina with the lovely bread and salads. We would return to the Gaddis Hotel again, but only as a base to return to after a long day sightseeing. It is basic, very cheap and excellent value for money with superbly friendly and helpful staff.
Just arrived home after a weeks stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean but rather small. The pool too, was quite small; however we didn’t spend much time around there anyway! Luxor has so much to explore therefore I found this hotel ideal, to reach all the hot spots! Staff were great and the food was average, depends on what you was hoping for, I didn’t really enjoy the fact that I went to Egypt and majority of the food was English!! But that’s a matter of choice. I would return to this hotel as it was good value for money (cheap)!
My ratings for this hotel Value ( 5out of 5) Rooms (4out of 5) Location ( 5 out of 5) Cleanliness (4 out of 5) Service (4 out of 5)
