Just returned from the Regency Plaza Hotel in Sharm with my boyfriend and 9 year old daughter. The hotel is rated a 5 star but in my opinion only a 4 star i am afraid. Having never been to Egypt before we were a bit wary and thought that we had done our research and after weeks of looking at all the hotels we thought were going to be suitable for a family with a young child, how wrong could we have been. The hotel itself was ok, the rooms were nice and big and cleaned thoroughly every day, the swimming pools were lovely and clean however the entertainment was in favour our Russian and Italian friends and having not taught my daughter Russian or Italian she was a litttle bit confused as were we. The food was ok, a bit repetative and it did not cater for children. Overall the weather cheered us up ( 90 plus every day ). Would return back to Egypt but would try another another hotel maybe on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The Egyptians are such friendly people and however bad you think that your holiday might be you have only got to catch a smile from one of them and your day seems a lot brighter.
