We arrived at this resort on 8th July 2009 having chosen it as a last minute break based mainly on a high recommendation by our travel consultant. Basically the resort matched his opinions in our opinion but we felt it would be useful to add our own thoughts, as follows. The rooms are not overly luxurious but are certainly clean and well serviced by the daily housekeep. Lots of hot water with excellent water pressure in the shower and clean towels daily. The food is fairly varied although we personally preferred the Italian restaurant. The rules for booking this changed during our week which was a bit of a pain; booking is now only available between 9 and 12 at a desk opposite main reception for one day in advance. In the main restaurant the food is plentiful, especially the fruit - fresh and dried, but I have to say I was disappointed by the watered down version of 'fresh' fruit juice on offer. There was a daily meat/fish chef on hand which was great (although steak always on the rare side unless you specified well done) and the restaurant staff worked extremely hard with a smile on their faces every time. The entertainment staff certainly deserve a mention. My son who is nine has never been to a kid's club before but we felt he needed something to keep him out of the sun for a few hours as he was going pink with a factor 40! The girls at the club are fantastic, so versatile with the different nationalities and never seeming to flag or lose patience with the children. Later in the evening they dance in the show and go on to lead dances in the disco - still smiling at midnight when we were saying goodnight! Definitely a big plus in our holiday - my young lad still talks about Barbara, Madeleine and Vanessa (to name only a few of the excellent staff). The beach club was fantastic - windswept and naturally gorgeous. We did walk to the nearby town but found it nothing other than the usual tourist type shops, although I am told there is more to offer round the marina area had we ventured further. In conclusion, yes, we had an enjoyable week and the resort was pretty much what we expected from reading the other reviews. However I would not return as the island itself was on first impressions very bleak and barren, although it should be pointed out that the hotel grounds are nicely planted and well irrigated which greatly added to our enjoyment.
My rating for this hotel: Value: 4/5Cleanliness: 4/5Service: 4/5Rooms: 3/5Location: 3/5
We have just returned from a great week at the suite Atlantis. We stayed in a two bedroom suite. The rooms were spotless and the maids came everyday and they did a great job. We were on the all inclusive basis and the only thing I can fault the food on was that it could have been a little hotter. My grandson who is five had a wonderful time in the swimming pools and the park, our room was on the ground floor opposite the park which was a really good position .we had no trouble getting a sun bed as other reviewers have said they did. We can’t comment on the kids club because my grandson wasn’t interested in going, he just wanted to swim all day. Though the hotel was rather full it was still very quite because of the choice of the seven pools, two of them being quiet relax pools. A great stay overall the really only bad thing about the whole hotel is the very, very hard beds not good for the back. We would still recommend to anybody we had a really nice time.
