The hotels in Alcudia are primarily based at Port d’Alcudia. Both hotel and self-catering accommodation is available. Self-catering and all-inclusive packages tend to be the most popular as Alcudia is a haven for family holidays. Most accommodation is situated along the bay providing easy to access the beach. However, the more upmarket accommodation is located around the harbour, which is pedestrianised.
The resort focuses on family activities, such as tennis, horse riding, and watersports such as pedaloes and banana rides. The local water theme park, Hidropark, is highly rated as a fun outing for the family as well. However, quieter times can also be spent shopping at the numerous small shops around the harbour - where local craftwork can be bought.
Bars and restaurants are mainly found along the beach with many catering for the British palate of plain and simple fast food. However there are some that incorporate a wider menu serving traditional local dishes to supplement the more international fare. The best of these more upmarket restaurants are located around the port. All in All, Alcudia is a great place for families wanting a relaxing, stress free holiday with a British ‘home from home’ feel.
