Siam Park in Tenerife – One of the best waterparks in the world
Siam Park, the Water Kingdom is a waterpark located in the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife the largest of the Canary Islands. It opened in 2008 and has quickly become one of the most popular water parks in the world. It is built in the style of Thailand with a range of Thai-themed buildings with a Thai floating market along with the restaurant serving Thai food (among a range of other international cuisines).
The best rides in the park are:
Tower of Power
The most iconic ride in the park with an almost vertical 28 metre drop which feels like you are in free-fall, at the end you go through a transparent slide within a huge aquarium full of sharks and other large fish but you are going so fast you don’t really get to see them that well during the ride. The ride is quick, it will take you ten times as long to walk up than to slide down. For a real adrenalin rush this ride is a must!
This is a 4 person ride with an enormous cone which you go down by riding up and down the sides whilst a huge dragon is looking at you. There is also a light show inside. This is a great ride not for the faint hearted, make sure you hold on!
This is the newest ride in the park and one that is truly unique. Ever been pushed up a ride? Yes that right the water pushes you up this ride during certain parts. Its quick too, with speeds of 18 meters per second. It has high speed curves and as you get pushed up the tubes a great gush of cold water shoots you up. It’s a real thrill and a must if you are brave enough.
A ride for 4 people which has a big bowl which you go around and get flushed down the middle like you are in a sink or a toilet. It is dark with lights inside, along with a flashing image of a dragon.
A great six-lane racing slide. You all start together and race down the slide which has 3 bumps, you pick up more speed and get a little wetter with each one. Race friends and families and if you want to win, a little tip is to push off with your feet at the top and also lift the mat at the front during the race.
This is a collection of 4 slides two for pairs, one for single riders and the final one for either pairs or singles. Each is different, if you are at the entrance to each, start on the right slide first and work your way left, as they get faster and better with each one. Some are open allowing you some lovely views whereas others are dark with lots of twists and surprises.
Two slides one moving clockwise and one moving anticlockwise. A good ride for all ages, it has an exquisite image of the ‘Temple Guardian’ which will transport you into a world of far eastern adventure and mystery.
One of the latest additions to this park built in 2012, this is a 200 metre mega slide which fuses 3 different experiences together with the best bit being the 45° tilt which will make even the hardened water park going give a little gasp of excitement.
For children there is the Lost City
A children’s water world with 120 games that will keep the kids entertained all day. There are gentle slides, bridges, nets and waterfalls. Babies are not forgotten either with a special baby zone area with little slides and pools designed for the smallest of guests.
This amazing park is not only about the awesome rides, there is also a fantastic artificial beach with free sun loungers along with a huge wave pool and surf school.
You can also relax around the worlds’ largest lazy river and get great views of the park whilst topping up your tan. There are plenty of restaurants with a wide range of international options, shops and even a family of Sea Lions which you can watch eating, swimming and playing.
If you are on holiday in Tenerife, regardless of age, Siam Park appeals to all generations and really is a great day out for the whole family.
