luxor has been described as ‘the world’s greatest open air museum’. since ancient times, it has been a popular tourist destination. this means that it can offer a huge range of both established and new accommodation that travelsoon can tell you about – just use our holiday search engine or call one of our travel advisers to find the best deals for you.

Why Luxor?

Luxor actually consists of three locations – the City of Luxor on the east the Nile, the town of Karnak just north of Luxor and Thebes, which is on the west side of the Nile across from Luxor. Many come to Luxor to visit ancient Egyptian sites both within Luxor, such as the temple ruins within Karnak, or to travel further out to sites such as the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.

Luxor Attractions

however luxor has more to offer than antiquities. the city is fascinating with its history ranging from pharoanic achievements through to remnants of its british colonial past. the many souks and bazaars provide opportunities for buying souvenirs that describe its history – in particular, the local alabaster and clay pots. trips across the nile are popular as well. in ancient times, this was more than a simple trip over the nile. the trip represented the journey from life. today, it is an interesting part of your journey across to the necropolis, including the valley of the kings. with all of this to offer, it’s not surprising that luxor prides itself on the accommodation that it can provide. accommodation in luxor ranges from 5 star hotels to self-catering accommodation that caters for both families and friends.
