“1 sure place for a great holiday”
I am an extremely busy business person owning my own company so I really, really needed a break. This was a find on my tablet one evening relaxing on my couch at home. Thought it would be cheap and cheerful but I had done my research on the area and new it was for me. Putting everything in perspective this resort is 3-4* Greek/European standard. Large but flat and easy enough to get around it is in a quite part of Corfu (approx 40 mins from the center) 200 meters from the most exceptional beach!! I enjoyed the food, my room was clean with a kalimera from the chambermaid every morning. Evenings were relaxing but also entertaining (nice quite village close by for a change of scene) Staff that I came across were very pleasant from the dining room Christina, Aggellos Kosta the 24 hr chef! Bar staff a Spiros on every bar, at first I thought the hotel was having fun with guests but realized after my trip to town its Corfu's patron saint's name!! I didn't need any special attention but I did notice while I was there that a certain couple did. A gentleman was wheelchair bound on holiday with his wife a present for her support after a lung transplant.. I observed that a certain member of staff paid particular attention to this couple, so much so that I thought they must be related. I asked the couple who this person was and they replied 'Our guardian angel'.. with out this person we would have left the place after 1 day but now we are on our last day her after 2 weeks and we really do not want to leave. She has been so kind and responsive to all our needs its been a very special holiday. Later that evening I saw the lady speak with them again late in the restaurant, the gentleman had tears in his eyes when he spoke with her. My thought at that moment was it is not so much the place you are that touches you and molds the experience but the people you meet. I had a great time, laughed a lot relaxed a lot and enjoyed the hotel and island very much but for this couple it was so much more and all because of one person taking the time to make them feel everything was possible. I did meet this lady before my departure, not because I needed her attention or required to speak with her but because before getting in my taxi she was situated outside helping guests with suitcases and chatting to them. All of a sudden she came down the stairs to the taxi opened the door for me and bid me 'kalo taxsidi' pleasant journey,take care hope to see you again next time....this hotel is huge, she made it feel like home..THANK YOU Dawn. I hope very much to see you again and your lovely resort. Well done Sandy Beach !
“Great food!! No complaints”
We went in mid October, and although we got 3 days of rain, it did not spoil our great holiday. The food is amazing and there is so much choice, there was always something you liked. There where a lot of guests when we where there and food was quickly replenished and was always hot. The bars where great and served local alcoholic drinks as part of the all inclusive. I would go back, but we did get to see most of the island, and so would like to explore other parts of Europe first. Overall a good holiday, only spoilt slightly by poor weather, but that is expected mid October.
