Mare Nostrum Resort Review
Booked a week at the Med Palace on 24th January for a week, fancied a bit of winter sunshine, and the weather didnt disappoint. Exterior of the hotel seems a bit dated. Inside of the hotel is good, there are 4 lifts so no worries for anyone who cant do stairs. Room we had was very large, but could probably do with sprucing up. TV choice for us english was pretty naff, only news and sport. Food at the hotel was really good, there was so much choice, only problem was at breakfast time, there are so many people around, trying to get to the different food stations, but we got fed in the end and the breakfast was to die for!
Couldnt ask for a better location, rright next to a few shops and restaurants, and a taxi rank is there as well to take you into the centre of americas if you want to.
Beach is right by the hotel, but to be honest, we're not big fans of beaches anyway, and the pool area is so nice we didnt really want to anyways. There are 4 other hotels on the complex, so there is always plenty of choice with bars and restaurants.
We were sold this as a 5 star, which i think is pushing it a little. Id say a very good 4 star. The other hotels on the complex all look amazing though, definitly 5 star and we personally would have paid the extra to stay in one of these!
But overall we had a lovely holiday....just what you need in a miserable english january!
